Main duties of the job:

Assist the maintenance crafts persons in work that includes activities, which are complex and/or non-routine. Undertakes unsupervised routine maintenance and minor repair work that does not justify the attention of a craftsperson. Assists in minor improvement and capital work across the Trust as directed by management, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures

To assist the Maintenance Craftsperson (in all disciplines) in such duties as instructed by the supervisor, working under the supervision of the Maintenance Craftsperson.
Undertake unsupervised routine maintenance and minor repair work that does not justify the attention of a craftsperson, including, where appropriate the attached "List of Tasks".
Assist higher skilled grades on new work and repairs as required.
Where necessary, learn minor work of assistants in other trades.
Use relevant tools and equipment.
Demonstrate a basic knowledge of workshop safety practices.
To learn new techniques, with training as necessary, to attend training courses as may be required.
Complete all necessary paperwork and computer records as required.
Use computerised reporting technology if required.
Work in other parts of the Trust as required.

Undertake any other reasonable duties commensurate with the grade.
