About the Role:


We are assisting our client, a well-established electronics manufacturer, in recruiting an Assistant Engineering Technical Coordinator to join their growing team in Swindon.

Reporting to the Engineering Technical Coordinator, you will be responsible forthe timely delivery of projects that meet the demands of the business.

You will also proactively support project activities from within the engineering department that will involve the entire business, through stages from concept to manufacturing implementation.


There will also be an element of administrative activities such as scheduling, hosting and attending project reviews in line with project plans and business gateway processes, ensuring attendance and following up the outputs with minutes and associated actions.

You will ensure that the relevant outputs and actions are clearly communicated and actively progress these to closure.

Assisting the Engineering Technical Coordinator, you will develop project plans and monitor resource activity to ensure that tasks are clearand up to date, with resource accountabilities communicated and progressed with those directly involved.


You should aim to provide the bridge between various areas of the business to ensure interlinked activities are coordinated, with exceptions both challenged and overcome, working with the Engineering Technical Coordinator and interdepartmental resourcesto resolve issues as they arise.


You will need to understand both the technical and commercial project requirements in conjunctions with the clients internal and external customers, translating these into scheduled activities required to maintain timely project delivery whilst ensuringthat robust, reliable technical solutions are implemented and demonstrated as fit or purpose in a design-for-manufacture environment.

In doing so, to define and validate the inputs, resources, time scales and outputs required to satisfy those needs, planningand progressing activities necessary to ensure the required outputs are achieved on time and in full.


Responsibilities:


  • To assist with generation, maintenance and monitoring of project charts for scheduled activities, taking inputs from all key stakeholders within the business.
  • To generate, maintain and monitor work lists for business technical work streams, taking inputs from all key stakeholders.
  • To work collaboratively with the business to determine priorities within the work streams and ensure that these are clearly and regularly communicated to all personnel.
  • To review, implement and coordinate a sample process to support work streams.
  • To maintain project gateway process schedules, reviews and outward reporting.
  • To undertake general administrative tasks including, but not limited to; engineering presentations, work stream review meeting minutes, EWR monitoring, engineering KPI monitoring.
  • To maintain clear, concise and accurate documentation for project activities.
  • To ensure minutes and actions are clear and proactively followed through to completion.

Your Skills and Knowledge:


  • Minimum Level 4 technical qualification with at least 2 years' experience, preferably with a bias towards project control in a volume manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of design for manufacture principles.
  • An appreciation of the volume manufacturing environment and associated scheduling constraints.
  • An understanding of engineering technical activities, tasks and scheduling.
  • Ability to work to deadlines in an industrial environment.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Project.
  • Ability to lead and deliver projects on time and within budgetary constraints.
  • Proficient communication skills across a range of media.
  • Organised, confident, selfmotivated and capable of multitasking.
  • Confident and approachable at all levels within the business.
  • Organised, diligent, selfsufficient and reliable in a team environment.
