The Campus Services Communications Team is searching for a creative and passionate Communications Officer to lead on developing and delivering engaging communications as part of a small, dynamic team.

As a Communications Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the communications output for a service within the College's Campus Services directorate.

This will involve overseeing multiple creative projects and delivering innovative and effective communications solutions aimed at internal and external audiences, online and offline.


Duties and responsibilities:

You will play a key role in the planning and implementation of Campus Services communications and digital media projects.

In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for articulating the communications approach for one of our teams, the design of all types of marketing collateral and the operational delivery of projects and their evaluation.

You'll undertake a wide variety of creative projects, including managing promotional campaigns and brand identities; the design and production of printed and online materials; writing impactful copy; and overseeing website and social media projects.


It is important that you are an independent thinker as you will need to be highly organised, creative, analytical and proactive.

You will be able to prioritise a demanding workload, liaise with stakeholders across the College, and have excellent written skills.


Essential requirements:


  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Excellent copywriting skills and experience, including writing for the web
  • Expertise in marketing products/services and coordinating campaigns
  • Experience of using content management systems and having previous responsibility for editing, updating and overseeing web content
  • Proven knowledge and experience in the use and development of digital and social media as part of integrated communications and marketing activity
  • Knowledge and demonstrable skills of the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Ability to work accurately at all times, especially in highly pressurised situations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to cooperate, communicate and work effectively alongside senior colleagues as well as in a team and with other colleagues
  • Microsoft Office skills to an advanced level, particularly Word and Excel

Salary range £35,477 - £39,860 per annum

The standard working week consists of 35 hours
