Quality Engineer

Vehicle Manufacturing

Can you see yourself designing quality standards; inspecting materials, equipment, processes and products; developing quality control systems and determining corrective actions?

Working with managers and supervisors to implement quality measures and manage Build in Quality functions within the processes, you will promote continuous improvement projects and lead in trouble shooting activity.

Ensuring that products meet quality standards whilst minimising cost where possible, key duties in this Quality Engineer role will include;
To develop and implement Quality Control Systems including Procedures and Process

To monitor and analyse Quality Performance including reporting of Key Performance Indicators for Quality including, Customer Performance, Scrap/Rework, Cost of Quality

Inspection and testing of materials, equipment, process and products

Efficient collaboration with management team to develop and implement controls and improvements

Investigate and troubleshooting product and process issues

Developing corrective actions, solutions and improvements

To provide Quality training for all levels of the business

Taking the lead on Process, Product and System Audits in line with system schedules

Leading Technicians and BIQ inspectors across the plant

Support the Quality Stream for APQP within NPI

Supporting the PPAP elements (Control plan, PFMEA's, Process flow charts, Dimensional reports, SPC etc) for projects and if required existing production areas

Support the construction and sign off for all SOP's for all aspects of the process

Ensure processes conforms to ISO 9001:2015 standard to ensure full integration into the business quality management system

Timely and detailed communication with the customer when required

Material traceability and allocation where required

Participate in CI initiatives where required

Quality gauge requirements and reviews when applicable

Set up and control PDI (BIQ) quality process

Expectations are that as Quality Engineer you will be able to offer;
A good understanding of APQP, PPAP and NPI

Knowledge of working to ISO9001:2015 and IATF16949 standards

Ability to understand engineering drawings and specifications

Project management skills

Strong communication skills
