Yard Operative MHE Driver L2

Forklift Driver

We have an exciting opportunity for a
Forklift driver/yardman to join us at
SG BUILDING DISTRIBUTION, based in
Mansfield.

The MHE Driver is an integral part of the Yard Team who will contribute to output efficiencies, whilst maintaining quality in a safe working environment using visual inspectionand good housekeeping.

What you'll be doing as a Forklift Driver:

To undertake general tasks within the timber processing plant at the discretion of and under the direction of the Yard Supervisor
Meet targets set by the company in terms of timely and accurate loading/unloading of vehicles
Contribute to safe and efficient running of overall site
Ensure all handling, loading and storage of goods is carried out and maintained in a safe manner
Ensure routine checks are carried out in a timely and accurate manner
Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner
To ensure correct stock rotation takes place, pickers should always be picking the oldest stock to fulfil orders

What we're looking for in a MHE Driver:

To be able to operate within a team and also using own initiative
A good eye for accuracy both when picking customer orders and completing the relevant paperwork.
To be able to operate to strict deadlines and customer order cut off times.
A willingness to understand/learn the timber operations, the processes involved and the product range.
Flexibility, to be able to change working patterns should the customer/operational needs dictate.
Health and Safety around the yard and team when loading and unloading vehicles
