You will be working as a member of a multi-disciplined project team which is involved in the Design, Testing, Qualification and Maintenance of RF, Analogue and Digital Electronic modules, and the configuration of complete simulators into custom systems.

The role will encompass a broad outlook in design and problem solving and will suit undergraduates who are looking to further their career as a RF, Electronics, Firmware or Systems Engineer.

A Senior Engineer will act as mentor throughout the placement.

  • Work on the design and evaluation of new components and subsystems of simulator products.
  • Work on the supporting the production implementation and calibration of GNSS systems.
  • Work on the development and documentation of custom GNSS simulator systems.

Job requirements
Applicants must have completed 1st and 2nd year of Engineering degree course.

As a Hardware Placement Student, we will be looking for experience or an interest in at least some of the following:

  • RF design & testing
  • Use of RF test equipment, Spectrum Analyser and Network Analyser, oscilloscope and modelling tools.
  • Understanding of data modulation schemes.
  • Low level embedded programming in C.
  • GPS system or receiver knowledge.
  • Digital Electronics knowledge.
  • An appreciation of GPS and/or Communication Engineering.
  • Programming in LabView.
  • The ability to work well with other departments e.g. Software Development, Customer Support and Operations.
  • The ability to write clear and concise reports and documentation.

Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months
