Description

Senior Salmon are looking for a Mechanical Machinist to join our client based in Colwick.

You will produce or repair precision parts using both manual and automated equipment and accurate measurements.

Job Duties

Review samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications of output
Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping
Select appropriate machines (e.g. lathes) and position or load material for a job
Heavy lifting
Determine and program size of batches, speed of machine etc.
Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature
Quality checking
Check output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects
Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
They must also have knowledge of mathematics and mechanics as well as respect for safety precautions.

Skills

Proven experience as machinist
Manual dexterity and an eye for detail.
Experience in using and/or programming manual, semiautomated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.)
Ability to use precision tools to take accurate measurements
Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals

This will be a 12 week, temporary to permanent position, with the opportunity for a permanent role.

Pay rate:
£12 - £13 per hour

Hours:6AM - 4PM, Monday to Friday

Salary:
£12.00-£13.00 per hour
