About the job you're considering:


Hybrid working: 2-3 days per week at
Stevenage office during initial 2-3 months based on the Training requirement and ramp-up.

Actual test execution will be at
Portsmouth site after the training period with 2-3 days from office.


Your Profile:


  • Expertise in realtime operating systems,
    embedded Linux with realtime extensions, systems programming, concurrency, and scheduling.
  • Expertise building,
    testing, and verifying realtime or safetycritical systems.
  • Experience with sensors, actuators, embedded vehicle electronics/avionics, and/or control systems.
  • Experience with operating remotely deployed systems in extreme environments.
  • Familiarity with interdisciplinary developments that involve hardware, software, and algorithm codesign and verification
  • Experience supporting infrastructure and tool development for scientific/engineering users.
  • Experience in building or leading strong engineering teams, including hiring and growing software engineers
  • Software development experience with programming languages (eg C, C++).
  • Familiar with sockets programming.
  • Validation of operational systems against user defined requirements.
  • Management and optimization of relational databases using SQL.
  • Experience of working with a
    geostationary satellite operations control system .
  • Knowledge of CCSDS and ECSS standards.
  • Knowledge of spacecraft operational database design and function.
  • Automated systems validation/regression testing.
  • Strong knowledge of
    space systems and satellite communication principles, protocols, and technologies. System design, ground segment design, satellite operations and payload engineering.
  • Proficiency in system design and integration methodologies, including requirements management, system modeling, and simulation.
  • Experience with system testing and validation techniques, including test plan development, execution, and analysis.
  • Familiarity with OSS/BSS technology for management and reporting

Your security clearance:

Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS)

To be successfully appointed to this role you will need to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks.


There are no nationality or residency restrictions, although if you have resided outside of the UK within the last 3 years, further checks may be required.


There are other criteria and check required for BPSS, and throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality.
