Accounts and Payroll Administrator
Salary 21k - 25k DOE, (£ £16.02 an hour)
30-hour contract
Position Overview:
Responsibilities:
Sales and Purchase Ledger:
- Oversee the accurate maintenance and reconciliation of the sales and purchase ledger.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, purchase orders, and expense claims.
- Monitor and review outstanding balances, ensuring prompt followup on overdue payments, and resolving any billing discrepancies.
- Complete payments run as and when required.
Credit Control:
- Monitor customer credit limits and review credit terms to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Proactively manage outstanding debts, including initiating collection efforts, negotiating payment plans, and escalating collection activities when necessary.
- Collaborate with the sales team to assess and mitigate credit risks associated with new and existing customers.
- Manage the operation of various credit facilities to enhance positive cashflow.
Payroll:
- Complete weekly and monthly payroll runs inclusive of subcontractors and calculating overtime accurately.
- Ensure that payments are made to HMRC in a timely manner inclusive of CIS payments
- Ensuring time is allocated to the correct projects so the project accurately represent a true profit/loss.
- Setting up new members of staff
Requirements:
- Qualification in Payroll or Accounting is highly desirable but not essential. (AAT, CIPD)
- Proven experience within the accounting or finance department.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel, and other commonly used software packages).
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.
- High ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
