Salary £ £15.00 per hour depending on experience

Our client, a leading Tonbridge-based engineering/manufacturing giant is looking to add to their team with an Assembly Fitter role available


Responsibilities

  • Fit and assemble fabricated parts or subassemblies
  • To be able to set up hydraulic and electrical systems including pressure testing
  • Install Hydraulic and Pneumatic pipes and lines
  • Install valves, pumps and motors
  • Must ensure the cable tying of hoses is completed neatly
  • To complete electrical tasks such as laying, connecting and securing wiring looms
  • To complete fault diagnosis and ensure basic checks are complete on all electronic installs
  • To be able to dismantle faulty assemblies and repair or replace defective parts
  • To ensure accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools or subassemblies.
  • To be able to understand and fit fixings, i.e. nuts and bolts, hydraulic adapters and fittings, electrical plugs and terminals
  • To be able to use and adapt to air tools or socket sets
  • To be able to lift and set large and awkward components
  • To provide support with design/ development tasks through the use of Engineer change notes/BOM variances
  • To support, offer and complete training with peers, trainees, and colleagues

Ideal Skills and abilities

  • Served technical apprenticeship or equivalent training
  • Good technical knowledge of the products, with a willingness to undertake training to expand knowledge
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly
  • The ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Wellproblemsolving skills
  • Good practical skills
  • Be able to work accurately in a lean manner to ensure efficiencies of the build
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good time management
  • A good working knowledge of electrics, pneumatics and hydraulics
