Our client is a privately owned Truck dealership in the UK.


They are looking for a Workshop Controller who will be responsible for the smooth running of the workshop, handing out work to Vehicle Technicians, liaising with the Service and Parts Departments.

Ensuring workshop staff produce the highest quality of work at all times, and that productive efficiency is maintained at all times.

Plan incoming work to manage time and resources available.

Duties will include but will not be limited to:

  • To allocate work to technicians and apprentices with due consideration to knowledge and skills and manufacturer's warranty standards are adhered to at all times and completion of all relevant documentation for each repair, service, maintenance etc.
  • To ensure that all work is completed in a timely and accurate manner, managing customer expectations at all times.
  • To ensure a strong relationship is maintained with the Parts Department to maximise parts availability.
  • To lead, motivate, coach and develop the team to achieve daily, weekly, monthly objectives.
  • To report and seek advice on any problems highlighted whilst work is being conducted so they can be overcome and the customer kept informed where delays result.
  • To report to the Service Manager/Depot Manager the position of unfinished jobs in the workshop at the end/during the day.
  • To undertake relevant eg weekly, maintenance checks on workshop equipment ie compressor oil levels etc
  • To maintain a high level of competence for the work to be undertaking by continuous professional development (CPD) by training, reading technical bulletins etc
  • To ensure professionalism and quality are maintained at all times in particular with customers and suppliers.
  • To assist managers with the introduction of new methods, designed or implicated to improve efficiency.
  • To ensure the care, maintenance and safekeeping of all tools, equipment and materials used and report any defects found.
  • To comply with Safety Policy and other safety procedures and guidelines which are deemed part of this job description. Employees must look after their own health, safety and welfare and be mindful of other persons who may be affected by their acts. Employees must cooperate and comply with management instructions regarding Health and Safety issues and report all accidents, incidents and problems as soon as practicable to their supervisor, manager or other senior members of staff available.
  • Performs such other duties as reasonably correspond to the general character of the post and are commensurate with its level of responsibility

Salary:
£30,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
