Part-Time Raw Materials Planner
They are seeking an enthusiastic, talented and experienced raw materials planner to join & assist their operations team.

The main role will be working collaboratively with the operations management, scheduling department and purchasing team to ensure thereis a steady and accurate flow of the various materials and components required by the production team.

The overall objective is to reduce the inventory held and to move to a much more regulated "just-in-time" environment.


You will report directly to the Operations Manager and you will have particular skills in communication, decision making, team management and customer service.

Ideally you will be experienced in as similar materials planning environment and should have outstandingknowledge and understanding of various supply chain management processes.


As a Material Planner we would be looking to you to develop forecasts that we can use to secure long term deals with key suppliers with advantageous terms both on time scales and prices.


Role consists of the following duties:
Duties are varied and will include

  • Timely planning of raw materials and component requirements in line with production plan to ensure on time delivery
  • Accurate stock allocation using FIFO principles
  • Accurate order entry
  • Raise purchase requisitions for production materials to meet safety stock, forecasts, and scheduled sales orders
  • Manage any raw materials stocks held off site and ensure continuity of supply
  • Manage subcontract suppliers of various subassemblies
  • Forecasts raw materials requirements monthly using ERP software to determine the customers demand trends
  • Monitor incoming stocks and proactively inform operations manager of any potential delays
  • Develop sound product knowledge to ensure opportunities are maximized
  • Work towards gaining a good working knowledge of the whole Operations Management department so cover can be provided for absence when needed
