    THE UNIVERSITY

We are an ambitious and modern University: and we're looking for ambitious people who can help us harness the power of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science to tackle global challenges.

We have been helping to shape the future since 1927, and research is still at the heart of what we do today.

Technology has historical routed foundations at the University of Hull, but that doesn't impede our ability to deliver valuable skills and research in utlisiting technology for now and tomorrow.

Through our Strategy 2030, we take seriously our role in shaping a fairer, brighter and carbon-neutral future.

Within this context, the world is changing rapidly as a result of the power of
Artificial Intelligence and
Data Science.

This can be seen in almost every walk of life and at every level of society.

Educating the next generation of data scientists and artificial intelligence practitioners and conducting research in this vital field are very much part of responding to this global challenge.

Through the launch of the University's new Centre of Excellence for Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Modelling (DAIM), we are responding to the increasing need for qualified practitioners by delivering a step-change in the provision of educational excellence - and high-quality research - which cut across traditional disciplinary departmental and faculty boundaries.

THE ROLE
We are looking for outstanding individuals with expertise in Artificial Intelligence or Data Science, coupled with specialist knowledge in the following areas:

  • Artificial Intelligence/machine learning in relation to music creativity (such as musical composition).
  • Music production in terms of audio mastering/mixing and/or signal modification.
  • Musical performance and AI/machine learning in relation to instrumental practice and/or instrumental design.

DAIM Lecturers will be expected to undertake research and/or knowledge exchange activities within the fields of Data Science, Modelling, and/or Artificial Intelligence in areas including, but not limited to: modelling & numerical analysis, high performance computing, data science, machine learning, and computer science & visualisation.

Ultimately, we are an education institution - it's our bread and butter Ideally you will hold a good degree, and a PhD or equivalent, with experience in teaching and research in at least one aspect of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.

However, we also recognise the value that significant and relevant work experience can bring to an individual's skillset. All applicants should have Python Programming skills.
