Your new role;
As the Fund continues to grow internationally, we are searching for our first Capital Markets Lawyer in London.
You will work very closely with our Legal and Investment teams both here and in Australia, managing the Fund's activities across our dealing desk;

  • Ensuring all commercial elements are effectively identified, negotiated, and documented
  • Review and negotiate existing and new agreements with our counterparties, across Capital Markets, Fixed Income Cash & Currency (FICC), including ISDAs, derivative confirmations, CDEAs and GMSLAs
  • Review and negotiate various brokerage agreements, as we onboard new platforms and services covering FICC and Capital Markets
  • Recommend and approve fees for external parties and legal work
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with the Fund's investment activities
  • Prioritise workload and issues across the broad range of asset classes.
  • Consult with internal stakeholders across investments, compliance, and operations
  • Take on an active role processing and reviewing the Fund's listed and unlisted assets


This role is based on site at London King's Cross Estate, one of the core assets of the Fund's global portfolio.


What you'll need

Culture is key at AustralianSuper, and we are looking for someone who is a team player that enjoys working in a high performing collaborative team.


  • Significant experience within private practise and/or an inhouse legal function/banking/asset management
  • A good track record working within Capital Markets/Derivatives/ Fixed Income, Currency & Cash
  • Experience drafting contracts, preparing reports, analysing information and drawing conclusions
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of derivative transactions (ISDA) and brokerage agreements
  • Strong commercial and stakeholder management skills
