We are seeking an ambitious new Centre Manager who is ready to play an important role at our Outdoor Activity Centre on the Southwestern shores of Windermere.

It is an exciting time at YMCA Lakeside as we look to grow our operations on the back of a recent £6.5m development.

The Centre Manager will be part of a small and committed senior team that will be integral to developing our business and impact.

At YMCA Lakeside we provide high quality residential and day experiences to over 12,000 people each year.

When our customers visit Lakeside they overcome challenges, defeat fear, develop relationships and build the skills and character traits that serve them throughout life.

As Centre Manager you will have oversight of all operations taking place at YMCA Lakeside.

You will lead and develop a management team to oversee the delivery of high quality outdoor activity programmes; be business focused, results-driven, and have a passion for excellence.

As Centre Manager, your day will consist of:

  • To work with the CEO and external consultants to develop and implement an exciting new operational framework for YMCA Lakeside
  • To input in the development of YMCA Lakeside's annual objectives and operational plan and be responsible for the delivery of these objectives
  • To manage the operation within the scope of the annual budget, using management information to regularly and consistently ensure that income and expenditure remains well managed
  • To drive forward the development of YMCA Lakeside's service offer, ensuring that our clients and children receive a high quality experience
  • To manage the Programmes Manager to ensure that all onsite activities are delivered safely and in compliance with regulation
  • To manage the Sales Office Manager to meet income targets and track preidentified KPIs
  • To manage the Property Manager to ensure that the estate is managed in a proactive way and that reactive maintenance works are carried out to a high standard
  • To work with YMCA's Central Support Team to ensure that the back office function follows established systems and processes
  • To manage relationships, including contractual relationships, with other third party providers onsite.

This job is for you, if

  • You have two years' experience at management level within an Outdoor Education environment.
  • You are educated to Degree Level and/or NVQ Level 3 and/or Equivalent Experience.
  • You have knowledge of working within the Outdoor Education Sector.
  • You have a full clean driving licence and access to a car
  • Essential.
  • You are enthusiastic with the ability to inspire, manage and lead a team.
Successful applicants will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS Disclosure.
