Role Description


This varied and diverse role will encompass both Warehouse and Office duties, working within a small team to ensure all daily operations and functions at the branch are carried out to the best possible standards.


Full Time Position 40 Hour Week Mon to Fri 08.00am-04.30pm with 30 mins break

Responsibilities:

(in no order and not exhaustive)

  • Serve customers on the trade counter including all paperwork and taking correct payment.
  • Warehouse work including picking and packing customer orders.
  • Signing for and checking goods in accurately and putting them away in location.
  • Stock rotation in the warehouse including changing picking locations from time to time.
  • Loading and unloading vehicles.


  • Sales administration

  • Receiving and processing customer orders and enquiries, invoice and credit note administration.
  • Stock control / purchasing
  • Ensure stock is reviewed according to the timetable and to the suppliers' criteria, placing orders and checking customer back orders, chasing stock in, booking stock in on the computer, updating notes on the computer system and arranging stock checks.
  • Cash handling / banking / filling in sheets for the account's team / end of day credit card reports.
  • Filing and other general office and warehouse support.
  • You will need to work both as part of a team and individually, being both willing and flexible to carry out any tasks required. Selfmotivation is essential as is good communication skills.
  • Occasional relief (small 3.5 tonne vehicle) driving required making customer deliveries.

General Duties

  • Maintain your working area in a clean and professional condition.
  • Maintain professional standards in both personal appearance and behaviour.
  • Always maintain strict company confidentiality.
  • To support Management in all aspects of branch operations.
  • Report immediately to the Company, any matter that you believe transgresses either Health & Safety, or other employment regulations.
  • Report any damage to Company property, howsoever caused, to a member of Management as soon as possible.

  • You may be required at times to carry out various other duties within your capabilities.
  • If requested to carry out any duty that you feel may be outside your capability you should report this fact to your immediate superior before attempting the task.

£23,795.20 per year
