We are seeking a Digital Content Producer to join the Digital team; supporting the development of our digital programme and online platform Channel, a curated space for art, ideas and artistic process.

Collaborating across departments at Somerset House and Somerset House Studios the role will be responsible for developing a strong creative digital output, collaborating with a broad range of creatives, producing content for the programme across various platforms.


This role will suit a multi-skilled digital storyteller who has experience in delivering content strategies and leading on projects covering a variety of digital outputs with proven track record at producing a broad range of content from inception to release.

The role will require content production skills and the ability to work directly with artists to create content for innovative digital artworks, products, and campaigns, along with a marketing mindset to grow our audience.


What we are looking for:


PLANNING

  • Support the Head of Digital in the development of content strategies for the digital programme, producing new content initiatives for Somerset House.
  • Work closely with the Marketing and Press teams to develop content strategies that align with brand development and campaigns for our Exhibitions, Live Events, Somerset House Studios and Inclusive Talent Engagement programmes, in order to meet audience objectives for each project.
  • Program, produce and schedule a variety of long and short form content across a variety of mediums for the Digital Programme and storytelling around the resident community.

CONTENT PRODUCTION

  • Lead and consult on production for all types of digital content across Somerset House's cultural departments, including films, audio (live and recorded), live broadcasts, interactive digital artworks, promos, microsites and editorial style content
  • Work with the broad range of creatives, in house and external, as lead producer on selected projects, developing streamlined ways of working.
  • Work as the lead producer on film projects to manage and collaborate with in house filmmakers or freelance crews from devising briefs, assembling crews, to organising schedules, artist/contributor outreach, call sheets, and working on clearances/licenses.

DIGITAL RELEASES

  • Create digital release strategies for the digital programme and campaigns working across Somerset House and partner distribution channels, ensuring successful engagement from target audiences
  • Oversee effective content releases for the Channel platform contributing to copy writing, uploading content to the CMS, and ensuring effective roll out across all Somerset House social and web platforms
  • Develop ideas and initiatives for increasing the reach and views of content across all platforms, working collaboratively with marketing and social teams

Skills, knowledge & expertise required for the role:

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 5 years leading on the production and delivery of digital content in a n arts or media environment.
  • High level of experience working and collaborating with creatives practitioners, artists, and stakeholders producing digital content and commissions in an arts context
  • Ability to think creatively around content strategy developing effective ways of engaging audiences and growing a brand
  • Project and production management experience; overseeing and coordinating large scale projects across film, audio and digital, including the management of teams, budget and schedule coordination
- (Desirable) past experience of operating* and supporting with camera equipment, lighting and sound for film, and an eager

  • Film and audio editing experience, with a broad knowledge of editing processes and software for film and audio (including Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Experience or knowledge of producing accessible content for a wide range of digital outputs and events including captioning
  • Experience of website management and working with CMS, working on or managing webbased projects

SKILLS

  • Multiskilled content producer with specialist understanding of production processes across different digital mediums and web based technologies
  • High level of attention to detail in the delivery of content, presentation, and assets for release
  • Supportive approach to working with artists
  • Technical ability and knowledge in creating film and audio content, along with an understanding of live stream production and processes.
  • A creative and editorial approach, able to generate creative ideas
