As a Technical Estimator, you will develop, continuously improve, and communicate quotations and proposals to internal and external customers, exceeding their expectations and confirming NOV FGS as their preferred supplier of composite solutions.

The role involves analysing project requirements, materials, labour, and other resources to provide accurate cost estimates.
**Key to this role will be your ability to act as the voice of the customer to all internal stakeholders including Operations, Manufacturing, Global Account Management and Line Management, communicating qualified sales opportunities, and agreeing achievable delivery dates with timelines at an agreed price level in line with both NOV's and our customers' businesses.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide accurate quotations, tenders and proposals in line with customer enquiries.
  • Work under the guidance of the Sales Manager &BD to prepare quotations, standards, overheads, profit and margins etc. in accordance with internal processes and procedures.
  • Review project specifications, drawings and other documents to understand scope and requirements.
  • Analyse the cost of materials, labour, equipment and subcontractor services required for the project.
  • Use historical data, industry benchmarks and other sources to determine cost drivers.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs to determine the amount of materials and resources required for the project.
  • Use engineering and architectural drawings to accurately calculate quantities. Provide detailed breakdowns of estimated costs, including direct costs, indirect costs and contingencies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Engineering diploma (desirable)

EXPERIENCE

  • Working experience in reading and understanding drawings (essential)
  • Working experience in producing high quality quotations (essential)
  • Previous experience in an estimating role (essential)

SKILLS, TRAINING AND SPECIALIST KNOWLEDG

  • Ability to interpret data and make recommendations based on findings (essential)
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word & Excel (essential) Proficient in a CRM such as Dynamics 365 (desirable)
