The Royal Hospital for Children is the largest specialist Children's Hospital in Scotland, and one of the largest in the UK.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is the largest National Health Service provider in Scotland with an annual operating budget of just over £3 billion.

At the centre of this was a £1billion acute modernization programme which included the opening in spring 2015 of the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and Royal Hospital for Children.

This will be reviewed within 6 months (or earlier if required) of appointment and revised upwards if additional responsibilities are agreed.
