Job Description:


  • Processing payroll information and maintaining accuracy and integrity of data for a variety of clients that differ in size, complexity and industry sector. This includes running multiple payrolls to multi deadlines throughout the month, start to finish, including RTI submissions, HMRC returns, employment levy etc.
  • Knowledge of payment and deduction types including statutory payments/deductions.
  • Knowledge of pension schemes and pension submissions to various provider platforms.
  • Acting as a point of contact for all payroll questions from all stakeholders
  • Ability to handle queries and liaise effectively with management and clients direct when required
  • Owning the payroll processes, and revising as necessary, taking into account new legislation changes, growth and risk factors
  • Additional Ad hoc administrative tasks and support to the wider Corporate Services team as required
  • Any other payroll related duties

  • Support the team in the investigation and resolution of client relationship issues, ensuring timely escalation of more complex client queries and issues to the Client Services Director
  • Preparation of assigned tasks/client deliverables ensuring consistent quality and timely delivery for review
  • Provide an excellent and high quality level of payroll and administrative services and proactively support in the delivery of these services to a portfolio of allocated clients

Tasks (what does the role entail on a day-to-day basis)

  • Responsible for registering new clients for payroll with HMRC as well as setting up the new payroll in QuickBooks payroll platform.
  • Responsible for processing payroll from start to finish for a portfolio of client companies
  • Processing starters and leavers and issuing P4
  • Ensuring payroll deadlines are met and paid out on time.
  • Submitting RTI information via payroll software and dealing with HMRC when queries arise.
  • Good understanding of prorated pay, including calculations for daily and hourly rates, termtime only employees.
  • Resolving all pay queries in a timely manner
  • Flagging any other client issues to Senior Client Managers;
  • Use of initiative in relation to carrying out client work smartly and efficiently;
  • Highlighting any risk issues that may arise.

Qualifications:


  • Strong experience of working on payrolls within the UK
  • Good working knowledge of payroll statutory requirements including PAYE NI contributions SMP SSP and Student loan repayments
  • Experience of providing payroll services to multiple clients and managing client relationships
  • Excellent organisational, prioritisation and interpersonal skills
