We're looking for an experienced
Quality Inspector to join a leading engineering firm at their new and improved site based in
Stockport.

In this role you'll be responsible for inspecting precision machined components and assemblies, ensuring that they meet customer standards.

What will you be doing as a Quality Inspector?

  • Conducting handson quality inspections of precision machined components and assemblies to ensure they meet the required customer and regulatory standards in line with ISO9001 / AS9100 regulations
  • Utilising appropriate measuring equipment to verify that all aspects of parts and finished goods comply with specifications
  • Performing "inprocess" inspections across all shop floor departments to uphold quality standards
  • Collaborating with the Quality team to enhance overall quality and prevent nonconformances
  • Coordinating with the Production team to establish and implement controls and improvements aimed at reducing rework and reject rates
  • Assisting in identifying and investigating nonconformances, and developing corrective actions and improvement strategies with the Quality team
  • Demonstrating leadership by fostering a culture of continuous improvement and compliance among colleagues
  • Working with the Quality team to plan and execute Internal Audits, ensuring the effectiveness and suitability of business processes

What do you need?

  • Experience as a Quality Engineer/Inspector or completion of a mechanical engineering apprenticeship, preferably within the Aerospace sector
  • Proficiency in interpreting both 2D and 3D engineering drawings
  • Competency in operating CMM machines
  • A sound understanding of Precision Engineering methodologies
  • Prior involvement in highly regulated Precision Machining or Quality Engineering positions
  • Familiarity with ISO Accreditation standards, particularly ISO 9001 / AS9100
  • A knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and proficiency in various manufacturing quality tools
  • The ability to identify root causes and effectively troubleshoot problems
  • Completion of Internal Audit Training
