Field Service Engineer - Reactive Breakdown & Service

to £50k + van + benefits
(Various positions available to cover Swindon, Bristol, Bath, Exeter and Bridgewater)


Our client has been established for more than half a century and specialise in the installation and support of conveyor and automated materials handling solutions for clients throughout the world.


As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth for 2023 and beyond, they are now seeking to recruit a number of experienced multi skilled (ideally electrically biased) field service engineer professionals to complement theirReactive Maintenance and Breakdown Service teams around the South West region of the UK.


Skilled in all aspects of fault find, problem solving and repair on both electrical and mechanical issues, as a field service engineer you will be responsible for accurately recording and reporting all repair activities using the relevant standard documentsprovided by the customers and the company and will effectively respond to customer escalations with urgency to resolve their problems.

In addition to the reactive breakdown activities, you will also undertake scheduled "Gemba Walk" inspections on site, performingnon-invasive thermal, acoustic and visual inspections in between breakdown and repair work as required.


With excellent communication and customer facing skills at all times, as a field service engineer you will responsibly manage your company vehicle, tools and stock provided and will thrive within an environment committed to the highest levels of customerservice and satisfaction as well as continuous improvement and increased efficiency in all areas.

You will be skilled in preparing and creating technical reports for both internal and external use that can be used for tender and quotation purposes and willensure that all requirements under Health & Safety legislation and required quality systems are actively adhered to at all times.


Able to be based anywhere in the South West region, you will take pride in your work and be committed to delivering the highest standards of work and customer satisfaction at all times and be comfortable in working both autonomously and as part of a team,with relevant H&S qualifications such as CCNSG, CSCS or IOSH proving distinctly advantageous.
