Salary Range £30,859 - £33,951 (Pro Rata):
Testwood School is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Pastoral Support Worker to join our dynamic Pastoral team.

Reporting to the Assistant Headteacher (Pastoral), your role will be to ensure promote the safeguarding, attendance, behaviour and pastoral welfare of our students.


Main responsibilities:

  • To act as DDSL and carry our daily safeguarding duties working within a strong, supported team
  • To provide pastoral support to students experiencing difficulties on a daytoday basis
  • To ensure that all the necessary steps are being taken to safeguard the students and support them, providing an essential point of contact with Children's' Services and attend TAF, CIN & CP meetings where needed
  • To provide information, advice and structured intervention to enable students to make positive choices, particularly about their welfare and safety
  • To keep uptodate records of interventions using the school's system to monitoring safeguarding, wellbeing and pastoral issues (CPOMS)
  • To act as a mentor for named students, to include monitoring their progress, behaviour and attendance, attending any relevant meetings and reporting any concerns to the SENDCo and Head of Year
  • To liaise with staff, parents/ carers and relevant outside agencies to provide appropriate intervention and support strategies for students experiencing disruption to their learning
  • To comply with confidentiality and safeguarding procedures

Essential attributes/experience:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of child protection/safeguarding procedures
Previous experience of work in a similar role would be an advantage, but not essential.
