Credit Controller

Overview:
The Credit Controller ensures that the company receives money owed by customers.

The role includes contributing to credit assessments, ensuring queries are resolved promptly and maintaining the Sales Ledger up to date and accurate.

Duty

  • Monitor existing credit limits, adjust as necessary and inform sales and customer of any changes where appropriate.
  • Contact customers with overdue balances to ensure payment and resolve any queries.
  • Refer seriously overdue customers to third party collection agents and take legal action where appropriate.
  • Post all cash received, on a daily basis, to customer accounts on the sales ledger.
  • Control the release of shipments to customers wherever they may cause customers to exceed credit limits or where stopping a shipment may contribute to the successful recovery of overdue payment.
  • Cooperate and communicate with members of the Sales department in matters of credit.
  • Produce monthly statements and deliver them to customers.
  • Ensure our system is updated with all relevant credit control actions scheduled and completed.

  • Can operate and gain information from the company IT systems and Credit agency.
  • Practices good time management and judgment in assessing and responding to team priorities.
  • Takes care to be accurate, consistent and complete in administrative duties.
