Job Description:
Overall Purpose Of The Job
As an Ocean Import Coordinator, you will have an interesting range of responsibilities as this role involves all aspects of freight forwarding with a focus on customer service.
Operational excellence is key to this role with focus on servicing the client and supporting the team in the branch on a day-to-day basis.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Process invoices, custom declarations and other necessary documentation, and create and maintain job files in an accurate and timely manner
- Manage all aspects of international and domestic freight movements (including Booking deliveries & arranging collections)
- Monitor flights and vessel arrival times and inform the customer of delays, ensuring the job is profitable
- Act as a main point of contact between customers and suppliers to ensure all needs are met within the specified delivery time
- Liaise with overseas offices for shipment movements, taking responsibility for monitoring progress and keeping the customer advised of the status
- Completing Customs declarations in line with UK HMRC requirements including collecting Duty and VAT payments and monitoring the use of our deferment facility.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in customer service position or similar environment with handson experience
- IT savvy such as experienced with MS Office (Cargo Wise software system experience would be a bonus but is not required)
- Educated to GCSE standard (minimum of 5)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Comfortable to work within deadlines in a timely manner
- Flexibility in a constantly changing environment with occasional out of hours working required
