SGS Care Ltd, working on behalf of Our Client, is seeking an Operations Manager and responsible Individual to lead and manage a portfolio of residential homes in the Midlands.

Main Responsibilities & Key Result Areas

  • Be the Ofsted registered responsible individual for an average of six homes (dependent upon the number of beds) and ensure they meet all relevant legislative requirements.
  • Provide effective leadership and management of Our Client services for children and young people.
  • Ensure a high standard of consistent care and service in accordance with legislation, government guidance, regulations, and Our Client's policies and procedures.

Key Duties

  • Regularly report on residential homes' compliance with the Statement of Purpose and relevant regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, including Regulation 44 inspections.
  • Prepare and support residential home managers for Ofsted inspections.
  • Provide supervision and management support for managers, identifying training and development needs.
  • Lead, support, and guide registered managers in the development of children's homes.
  • Safeguard young people effectively.
  • Promote professional practice through personal example and training.
  • Manage electronic administration systems and ensure data accuracy.
  • Maintain a safe environment for residential staff.
  • Assist in staff recruitment and oversee induction, discipline, capability, and grievance procedures.
  • Contribute to projects and initiatives as required.
  • Assist registered managers in managing and maintaining home vehicles.
  • Prioritise communication and participation to meet young people's needs.
  • Participate in meetings and training events.

  • Computer literacy.
