Senior Finance Business Partner

Skelmersdale
I've partnered with a leading global manufacturing company who are seeking a Finance Business Partner

This is an integral part of the business management team, reporting to the Head of Finance. Accountable for site management accounts, costings, site performance forecasting, operational performance analysis, internal Group reporting and project support asrequired.

Managing the site finance team and being the link between the central Finance Team, and the site.


Responsible for financial input and analysis whilst working alongside the site Operational (Production, Logistics, Procurement) and Commercial (Development, Sales) functions.


Delivering timely and effective reporting and evaluation, to support effective decision making across the business, becoming a trusted Business Partner.


  • Delivery of accurate and timely management accounts
  • Responsible for weekly and monthly reports for site and Group usage
  • Truly understand the operational cost base and be the local gatekeeper and owner of the commercial costing process
  • Continually develop site KPI reporting, providing information and support to meet targets and improve performance
  • Assist the Head of Finance with the production of robust site budgets and forecasts
  • Build and maintain relationships with Group finance function and site Operations and Commercial stakeholders
  • Manage the site finance team, ensuring that adequate cover is in place for team absences

Skills and Experience

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) with a minimum of 5 years' post qualification experience
  • Full driving licence
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within a manufacturing business
  • Involvement in forecasting and budgeting processes
  • Experience of operational reporting
  • Experience of product costings
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively
  • Problemsolving capability
  • Ability to plan own and team workload, handling multiple priorities, highlighting areas of concern or conflict in good time
  • Ability to influence the thinking of peers, ensuring a focus on financial impact
  • Confident, selfstarter with the initiative to work with minimum supervision
  • Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail
  • Comfortable in contributing to site decisionmaking discussions and decisions
  • Knowledge of different pricing matrices (ie; consignment profitability, profitability analysis, promotional, ABC, etc)
  • Experience in ERP manufacturing systems (eg; Sage, Rubicon)
  • Experience in effectively communicating detailed financial information to nonfinance managers
  • Previously supported operational and commercial development teams
  • FMCG experience
  • Team management experience
