We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated Urology Team Leader.

If you have experience in working at Band 6 level and feel that you are ready to step up to the next level, this is your perfect opportunity to join our experienced team within the theatre department and develop your skills and abilities further.

Funding is available to access external courses to support your development along side a bespoke band 7 development programme.

Your responsibilities will include the role of Laser supervisor and supporting the team ensuring safe laser usage. There will be line management responsibilities, including appraisal compliancy, recruitment/retention and performance management.

  • To act as a clinical expert and role model predominately in the urological specialty.
  • To lead the Urology Team, providing a high standard of professional practice maintaining appropriate codes of conduct and contribute to the leadership of an environment which supports positive, collaborative working.
  • Ensure Trust policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • To motivate and inspire others to ensure clinical excellence, promoting awareness and cascading information regarding best practice and research.
  • Take immediate action where performance, conduct or attendance falls short of the expected standard.
  • To ensure that accepted Theatre Safeguards / Codes of Practice are maintained and followed by all staff working in the department.
  • To assist with and participate in, the recruitment and retention process.
  • To undertake appraisal, personal development plans and objective setting ensuring staff development, learning and personal / professional growth.
  • Lead the clinical team to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients and staff in accordance with Trust Health and Safety Policies.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and competencies to safely operate and use any specialist equipment required during the perioperative phase
  • On occasions working out of hours when the needs of the department requires it
