Job Overview:
We are seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our team in a busy care home environment.
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the Cook and ensuring smooth operations in the kitchen.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about food preparation and eager to learn and grow.Responsibilities:
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing sandwiches, setting dining tables ready for each meal time to begin.
- Help with cooking and baking tasks under the guidance of the cook.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and storing ingredients properly
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure safe handling and storage of all food items
- Support the cook and working as part of a team during busy periods by taking on various tasks as needed
- Assist with catering orders and meal preparation for special events or functions
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential
- Basic knowledge of food safety practices and regulations
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fastpaced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Job Type:
Part-time
Part-time hours: 18 per week
Pay:
£11.44 per hour

Experience:
- Chef: 1 year (preferred)
- Catering: 1 year (preferred)
