Job Overview:
We are seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our team in a busy care home environment.

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the Cook and ensuring smooth operations in the kitchen.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about food preparation and eager to learn and grow.

Responsibilities:

Assist with food preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing sandwiches, setting dining tables ready for each meal time to begin.
Help with cooking and baking tasks under the guidance of the cook.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and storing ingredients properly
Follow food safety guidelines to ensure safe handling and storage of all food items
Support the cook and working as part of a team during busy periods by taking on various tasks as needed
Assist with catering orders and meal preparation for special events or functions

Requirements:

Previous experience working in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential
Basic knowledge of food safety practices and regulations
Ability to work well under pressure and in a fastpaced environment
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

this position inclueds alternate weekend, morning shifts and evening shifts.

Part-time

Part-time hours: 18 per week

Pay:
£11.44 per hour
