Accounts Officer

ABOUT COMPANY:


Maplin Engineering provides state-of-the-art design, engineering, business planning, multidisciplinary consulting, project management, and construction management services to customers in infrastructure, oil, gas, industrial, education, healthcare, leisure, and commercial sectors.

We are seeking an Accounts Officer to join our dynamic team and contribute to our financial operations.


Key Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping: Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, ensuring accuracy and completeness of entries.

Reporting: Prepare regular financial reports and statements to provide insights into the company's financial health.

Project Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage financial aspects of projects, monitoring budgets, expenses, and financial milestones.

QuickBooks: Proficiently use QuickBooks or similar software to record transactions, reconcile accounts, and generate financial reports.

Payroll Management: Handle payroll processes, including accurate calculation of employee salaries, deductions, and ensuring timely payments.

UK Taxation: Ensure compliance with UK taxation laws and regulations, including timely submission of tax returns and accurate tax calculations.


Qualifications and Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience as an Accounts Officer or in a similar accounting role.
  • Strong proficiency in bookkeeping principles and practices.
  • Excellent project management skills to effectively handle multiple financial tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software, particularly QuickBooks.
  • Thorough knowledge of UK taxation regulations and compliance.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

Job Type:
Part-time


Salary:
£12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
