What we'll offer

As Head of Finance & Treasury Risk, you will lead a team of financial risk experts to provide oversight of the Finance Centre of Expertise.

This is a key role that will involve you representing Risk at committees, engaging with senior stakeholders across the business and providing review and challenge over key activities, ensuring that risks are appropriately managed.

Reporting to the Head of Financial Risk, you will be responsible for leading the Financial and Treasury Risk team in their oversight work.

This includes all of the risks relating to the Bank's treasury activities, prudential reporting and financial planning, as well as other key activities undertaken by Finance.

You will provide leadership, inspiration and direction to the team, supporting them in their own development activities.

You will bring big picture thinking, considering not just the direct financial risks the bank is exposed to, but how these should be viewed in the wider business and markets context.

You will be a member of the Financial Risk leadership team, supporting the Head of Financial Risk in forming, developing and delivering strategy and approach.

You will have:

A Treasury or Accounting qualification.

Extensive experience in Financial Risk, including Treasury, with a strong understanding of financial dynamics.

Deep knowledge and familiarity with prudential regulation.

Exceptional analytical and logical reasoning skills.

A strong leadership presence.

The ability to manage a range of stakeholders across different teams within the bank.

The Role

You will:

Use your skills as a Financial Risk SME to deliver comprehensive, proportionate and effective oversight of finance and treasury activities within the Bank.

Provide risk opinions and perspectives on Finance and Treasury proposals and artefacts such as ICAAP, ILAAP and risk appetite.

Represent Risk at the Treasury Committee, ALCo and other committees as appropriate.

Provide leadership guidance and training to your team and others on financial risks, to help guide decision-making.

Remain abreast of best market practice.

You'll be proactive and have a keen eye on the horizon as we are experts in being adept when faced with developing risks or regulatory driven change.

Use your comprehensive knowledge and skills to act independently while providing guidance and training to others on identifying, assessing, prioritising and managing risks.
