The Role:

An exciting opportunity has become available at Moorview Referrals for a Rotating RVN to join our friendly, motivated team.

You will be expected to carry out general nursing duties with shifts rotating through surgery, ECC, medicine and kennels, enabling you to continue to develop your clinical skills in a variety of disciplines.

All special interests will be welcomed and supported, with generous CPD funding and certificate support available.

This is a full-time position working 40 hours over 5 days and 1:5 or 1:6 weekends.

We care about our staff having a good work life balance so for weekend work you will be given time off in lieu.

There are no compulsory night shifts or on-call, but our nurses can pick up optional night shifts to cover annual leave if they wish which will be reflected in your annual salary, or extra optional 10hr weekend shifts which are paid at time and a half.

Salary for this role is from £29,000-31,000pa in line with your level of experience.


About Us:

Moorview Referrals is a fast-paced referral hospital based in beautiful Northumberland, within easy reach of the stunning coastline and the lively city of Newcastle upon Tyne.

The hospital has been purpose-built to industry leading standards and features state-of-the-art facilities including four theatres (one with fluoroscopy,) a CT scanner, multiple ultrasound machines, video flexible and ridged endoscopy/laparoscopy/thoracoscopy/arthroscopy, and an MRI scanner.

We offer referral services in orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, neurology, internal medicine, ECC and cardiology, enabling you to utilise your nursing skills to your full potential working with an interesting, diverse caseload.

About the Team and Culture:

We have over 95 members within our centre; there are 21 vets, a majority of which are certificate holders, along with internal medicine and neurology specialists and one resident.

In addition, we have 25 registered veterinary nurses, 3 Advanced Diploma holders, over 12 students and to assist we have our ever-growing animal care team.

We are a friendly practice, with a good work ethic and great team work - we adopt a collaborative approach to our work and take pride in providing outstanding levels of care to our patients and clients.
