Key responsibilities and objectives:
Quality Assurance Media Services
Mare Street, E8
Head of Media Services

To assist our authoring team with audio and video encoding, basic editing, disc and file QC.

The role is an essential part of the production workflow, working closely with the disc producers, QC and subtitling

To monitor and manage the incoming assets

  • Calculate bit budgets and encode audio and video to industry standards
  • Carry out basic editing and fixing assets
  • Carry out video standards conversions
  • Create subtitling proxies
  • Assist the QC department with file and disc QC
  • Manage downloads, deliveries and archiving of video and audio assets using TEHMS servers and
BASE, our cloud based Aspera storage

  • Support producers and authors, ensuring authoring briefs are accurate

Skills and attributes:

  • Problem solving skills
  • Good working knowledge of audio/video, physical and digital formats
  • Good working knowledge of Premiere
  • Knowledge of Bluray, DVD and UHD formats and functionality
  • Understanding of broadcast TV formats, both SD and HD, PAL and NTSC
  • The ability to seek out and learn to use new useful software whenever necessary
  • Technical skills and aptitude
  • Creative skills
  • Great multitasking skills
  • Extremely well organised
  • Passionate about film
  • An good understanding of the Home Entertainment industry and familiarity with Arrow products
