About Us

Rely on Fire Check are an independent consultancy practice which provides fire safety system design and verification services to a range of clients across the United Kingdom.

We are recruiting for a talented Bookkeeper to join our growing team. This role includes all management accounts functions, including VAT returns.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Process payments, invoices, income and receipts, entering data using Sage Accounting
Prepare financial statements showing business income and expenditure
Pay supplier invoices and balance income and expenditure against bank transactions
Develop and present monthly financial statements including cash flow, profit & loss and balance sheets
Complete VAT returns
Verify the accuracy of business accounts and raise any issues/errors with the company accountants
Assist the company accountants with administrative duties and preparing yearly accounts
Assist with the administration of grant funding and research & development claims

Required Skills & Experience

Proven Bookkeeping experience in a similar position (essential)
AAT Level 2 Bookkeeping (preferred)
Demonstrable experience using Sage
Experience preparing management accounts
Clear communicator across all mediums & easily builds rapport with clients and team
Highly organised. Works in a logical and methodical, time efficient and accurate manor
Meticulous attention to detail
Good time management

About You

You'll be a problem solver who is able to work both in a team and independently whilst not being afraid to ask questions and challenge decisions that have been made.

This role is suited to someone who is confident in making their decisions but also knows when to refer problems.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has previous work experience in a busy bookkeeping providing quality advice and a high level of customer service.
