Role Purpose


Through effective communication and leadership, the Lead Service Designer will elevate the visibility and impact of service design and UCD practices, positioning them as essential components of Registers of Scotland's strategic vision and mission.


Job description:


Main Duties

  • Lead and manage a team of service designers to deliver highquality usercentred services.
  • Embed the Scottish Approach to Service Design, the Digital Scotland Service Standard, WCAG, and GDS principles within the organisation.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams, stakeholders, and partners to identify user needs and design solutions that meet those needs.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators to evaluate the success of service design initiatives.
  • Continuously develop the team's capabilities and provide mentorship to foster professional growth.
  • Work in new/existing service teams, setting design direction and assuring the quality and delivery of complex services
  • Lead a Service Design community of practice (CoP) with other internal and external colleagues
  • Work closely with the Head of User Centred Design and Community Lead to establish and foster a Service Design culture
