Job Summary

Connections 2 Independence are looking for a fun, outgoing, independent, and inspiring individual to join our team in key working some of our most vulnerable young people in and around Gloucestershire.

We need drive and passion with working directly with young people as we offer stipulated support which includes elements of 1:1 support and group sessions to access our independence programs.


Within our placements you will be expected to support each CYP in participating in weekly baking and cooking workshops, budgeting tasks which all interlinks directly with their pathway plans.

We design a support plan directly with our CYPs to outline the direct support and demonstrate clear expectations of outstanding and completed tasks in order to set a clear path to independent living.

We support each CYP in a weekly supported shop to demonstrate they can budget their personal allowance funding by social care which is to purchase appropriate foods, health and hygiene products and any other essentials.

Our group sessions ran are to develop social relationships amongst other young people, these will include sexual health, workshops, and other activities.


Main Purpose:

Answer all incoming calls through the placement duty phone and pass through to the relevant person.

To ensure safeguarding of young people and have excellent negotiation skills and an ability to handle sensitive issues.

To assist in carrying out specified activities/duties to meet the needs of our young people.

Maintain high professional standards within all work with young people, professionals, and families.

To adhere to Connections 2 Independence Policies and Procedures.

Update your CYPs Risk Assessment and Support Plan. This should be done at least once a week, unless an immediate risk has occurred. Support Plans should be updated on every shift if you have worked towards a support need identified.


To offer planned support sessions to our young people as part of their
Connections 2 Independence _
(C2I)_
programme which is a clear guide to independence created and developed by Connections 2 Independence.

Building confidence and self-esteem to young people.

Ensure your CYPs profile is up to date on C2I caseworker.

Review your CYPs trigger plan (if generated by social worker) to ensure the safety and security of your CYP.

To participate in training events and team meetings as required.

To participate in regular individual supervisions with Young Persons Coordinator.


Manage and keep up to date with your CYPs appointments and add them to the placement calendar as well as their weekly timetables.


Complete a monthly report on your allocated CYP which will be sent directly to their social worker and any other professional on the support offered within that month.

Complete weekly timetables and goals to develop your CYPs independent skills and a clear pathway to independent living.

To work co-operatively and collaboratively with staff from other statutory and voluntary agencies in developing working partnerships.


To promote a positive image of C2I through professional operation and conduct when dealing with members of the public, young people and Staff members.

We provide support for vulnerable young people, which includes working regular shifts, evenings, nights and occasional weekends.

To take responsibility for completing Mandatory training and personal training, as identified in discussion with your Young Persons Coordinator.

Turn voids around within a 24-hour period of a CYP moving out of placement.


Other duties and Responsibilities:

To undertake responsibilities as required to ensure the professional running of the organisation.

Complete requested tasks from your Young Persons Coordinator as requested.

Experience of working in a range of settings with vulnerable young people.

Demonstrable commitment to recognising and valuing young people's achievement in a range of learning styles.

Evidence of recent commitment to personal professional development.

Experience of working on your own initiative and within a Team.

Understanding and promotion of equal opportunities in both staff and client work
