The Post:


The Head of People Solutions and Experience is responsible for leading our HR operational teams, HR Case Management, Recruitment and HR Assist, in developing and enabling individual people solutions that meet the needs of the business, both for National Services Scotland (NSS) and our shared service partner, Public Health Scotland (PHS), The post is responsible for ensuring that HR practices and processes deliver the requirements and needs of the business and put the employee experience at the heart of our work.

Reporting to the Director of HR and Organisational Development the post is responsible for the provision of a range of HR services, including HR advice, case management and wider people solutions, HR first line support, advice and administration of terms and conditions of employment, recruitment and resourcing strategies and initiatives.

This includes the provision of professional HR advice to stakeholders and customers in workforce-related issues and initiatives, including championing the development of a culture of positive staff experience.

As a member of the HR Senior Management Team the post plays a key role in the development and implementation of the strategic direction, governance and overall performance, delivery and enhancement of HR services across NSS and PHS.

The post requires a highly effective leader of people with excellent communication and relationship management skills to influence and engage others, and to direct the implementation of change.

This includes building strong relationships, with our shared service partner Public Health Scotland and across NHS Scotland.

The postholder should have knowledge of one or more HR topics acquired through degree and/or professional HR qualification along with considerable experience of HR at senior management level, and knowledge of the provision of excellent HR services.

Chartered membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development or equivalent is essential.


Location:


The role has a permanent location based in Glasgow or Edinburgh but flexible working will allow the post holder to operate from a remote location on a regular basis.

The post holder must be prepared to attend the fixed location at the request of the organisation when deemed essential.

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.


Working Pattern:

Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week
