  • The Manchester College has many Campus locations across Greater Manchester, each with its own specialist cuttingedge facilities within a friendly and supportive environment. We are the largest Further Education College in the UK providing education and training to a wide range of learners.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Careers, Employer
Partnership and Skills Department as a Careers & Welfare Co-Ordinator on a permanent, part time (17.5 hours per week) basis.**The purpose of this role is to co-ordinate and deliver an informed and effective CEIAG Careers, Education, Information, Advice and Guidance service to individuals and groups of clients, to support enrolment, progression, retention, achievement of learners within TMC and to work with key stakeholders and employers to maximise learners' positive experience.

In order to do this, you will need:

  • Level 6 Career qualification or a minimum of a Level 4 Qualification in Guidance, willing to work towards a Level 6 qualification.
  • Numeracy and Literacy skills (to level 2 or equivalent)
  • Knowledge and experience of working in the Career and Guidance industry
  • Knowledge and understanding of a wide range of occupational, student finance and welfare matters and their implications for clients.
  • Ability to deal sensitively, flexibly and with empathy with clients from a range of cultural, ethnic and welfare backgrounds
  • Ability to manage own workflow and effective timemanagement skills
  • Ability to work effectively in crosscollege teams and establish positive relationships
  • Ability to train and develop others within the team
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Good IT skills using a range of software packages
  • Excellent Data handling and analysis skills
  • Research skills and the ability to create materials/resources for delivery to clients
