This is a new role for the organisation, key objectives are:

To take leadership approach to their enterprise assurance across organisation. There is an enterprise assurance team, that will report to it.
To take lead on the risk management there is a risk management team
To take lead on Business Continuity there is a business continuity team

The role is key in terms of leadership, strategic direction, a professional head (being the policy owner for these areas) and who thinks from a professional point of view that is responsible for strategy, policy, and strategic direction.

The organisation is currently not mature enough to understand this and what enterprise assurance is, understanding what risk management is, as well as business continuity so you must be able to translate this to those that don't understand.
