Position Overview:

This Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school are dedicated to providing exceptional education and support for primary-aged children with diverse learning needs.

Our committed staff, nurturing environment, and innovative teaching practices create a supportive atmosphere where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide oneonone and small group support to students with autism to address their individual learning needs.
Assist in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour intervention plans (BIPs).
Collaborate closely with teachers and specialists to create a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom environment.
Use evidencebased strategies to support the social, emotional, and academic development of students with autism.
Foster a positive atmosphere that promotes communication, selfregulation, and independence.
Act as a mentor, advocate, and role model for students, helping them build selfconfidence and social skills.
Implement behaviour management techniques and provide support in crisis intervention and deescalation when necessary.
Maintain accurate records of student progress, including behaviour and academic development.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Relevant qualifications or experience in autism support and education.
Strong understanding of autism spectrum disorders and evidencedbased practices in autism education.
Excellent communication, empathy, and active listening skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
A commitment to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, specialists, and support staff.
