Position Overview:


This Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school are dedicated to providing exceptional education and support for primary-aged children with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide oneonone and small group support to students with autism to address their individual learning needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and specialists to create a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Use evidencebased strategies to support the social, emotional, and academic development of students with autism.
  • Foster a positive atmosphere that promotes communication, selfregulation, and independence.
  • Act as a mentor, advocate, and role model for students, helping them build selfconfidence and social skills.
  • Implement behaviour management techniques and provide support in crisis intervention and deescalation when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, including behaviour and academic development.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications or experience in autism support and education.
  • Strong understanding of autism spectrum disorders and evidencedbased practices in autism education.
  • Excellent communication, empathy, and active listening skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • A commitment to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, specialists, and support staff.
  • Provide details for us to complete reference checks prior to employment. _
  • Provide an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one (which Pink Tile can assist with). _
