This large not-for-profit organisation are currently seeking a Financial Accounting Manager to join their dynamic team on a permanent basis.

Reporting into the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for managing the organisation's large Transactional financefunction, whilst also leading the statutory accounts and external audit processes.


The key duties of this Financial Accounting Manager role are as follows:

  • Be at the forefront of the development and establishment of more robust financial controls across the organisation.
  • Manage the transactional finance team, providing support and guidance whilst coaching them through new process rollouts.
  • Take the lead in the production of the first draft statutory accounts.
  • Play a critical role in the audit process, developing the schedules, liaising with the external auditors and writing all follow up notes.
  • Work in close partnership with the Management Accountant in the production of cashflow forecasts, ensuring investments are getting the best return.
  • Full responsibility for establishing a compliance process for all things VAT and ensure the timely submission of returns on a quarterly basis.


Following a recent organisational restructure, this role will also be at the forefront of several process improvement projects, so there is excellent scope for you to put your own stamp on the role Furthermore, the organisation is currently offering forflexible working opportunities, including potential to work from home for up to two days per week.


  • Achieved their full accountancy qualification.
  • Ideally a background working in the social housing, charity or care sector, but this is not essential.
  • A background producing statutory accounts and leading an audit process.
  • Experience of managing or supervising a small team.
  • Brilliant communication skills and excellent Excel ability.
