PURPOSE


Primarily responsible for the configuration, testing and device management of all components of EPOS solutions and card payments devices, as per company standards and procedures.

This temporary, summer role revolves around our deployments across various world-class music and sporting events across the UK during our peak trading months.


The Event Payment, Device Configuration Assistant will configure card terminals according to order requirements and help resolve merchant and helpdesk queries related to merchant terminal systems.


Working as part of a tight-knit team in our London warehouse, this role is ideally suited to a customer focussed, highly motivated, tech-savvy individual, looking to increase their knowledge and working experience within a tech environment.

The role may also require some on-site work at sporting events and festivals.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare card payment terminals for dispatch, including testing, cleaning, correctly and securely boxing and some configuration of settings and setup.
  • Install and configure payment terminals, including setting up and testing, connecting devices to networks, and troubleshooting basic technical issues.
  • Simple technical tasks around EPOS and card terminal hardware, including, but not exclusive to, removing or fitting parts.
  • Assist with the preparation of EPOS and Card Terminal orders when required.
  • Cleaning and testing card payment terminals between events as they return to the warehouse.
  • Where required, provide onsite technical support for the deployed infrastructure during an event, monitoring performance, diagnosing and fixing issues as they arise, providing a timely response service to issues and queries.
  • Undertaking other relevant tasks as and when directed by the Warehouse and Device Configuration Manager or the site Project Manager and when reasonably requested by other team members.
  • Policies and Procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory, health and safety and quality systems as well as review and improve where necessary.

COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS or ABILITIES / BEHAVIOUR)

  • Dedicated and hardworking with a willingness to get your hands dirty.
  • Ability to work in and react to a changing environment and respond pragmatically to problems as they arise.
  • Some IT or computer skills or experience would be preferred, but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a large team, with a first rate attention to detail and a passion for customer service.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • You must be over 18 with the right to work in the UK. A full, clean driving license would be advantageous but is not essential.
