Factory Team Leader
Responsible for the operation of a section within the Manufacturing function, supporting the Manager with the day-to-day management of their manufacturing area, overseeing a group of members and ensuring an efficient operation in achieving business targets.

- To maintain and report against agreed departmental performance measures, including productivity targets, in line with the agreed timetable against KPI'S
- To initiate continuous improvement plans to better the department and assisting management in the projects relating to the departments
- Every effort is made to ensure that the agreed performance targets are met and where they are not being met, appropriate action is taken to return performance to target levels
- Use and maintain the area action board daily whilst ensuring use of the principles of lean manufacturing
- To ensure that all legal and audit requirements, including Health & Safety Risk assessments are adhered to
- To meet H&S requirements by ensuring all risk assessments, safe systems of work, associated training requirements are up to date and that staff are using the appropriate PPE
- Regularly review H&S issues via toolbox talks, and encourage employee participation in identifying related issues and potential hazards
- Reports for the near misses/ accidents are completed and documents and full investigations take place where necessary
- Ensure the department's daily Manufacturing List/ Despatch list/ Stillage lists are completed, with all products made on time to the company's required quality standard
- Material requisition forms are submitted to the warehouse before the production unit requires the material and these requisitions take account of the actual orders in the system and residual stock in the production area.
- Regular twoway communication takes place with the relevant Production Manger to ensure that all roadblocks are highlighted early and actions agreed to remove them
- Ensuring departmental product checks are completed in line with the daily quality check list
- Training records and skills matrices are religiously maintained and used as an input into training and development plans
- Cover is arranged in good time for all known absences and holidays
- Day to day personal issues are dealt with quickly and professionally, with the involvement of HR or management as appropriate
To be successful in this role you'll have:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Computer literate with IT, Microsoft packages inc Excel, sage
- Experienced at providing outstanding customer service
- Comfortable juggling priorities and managing time effectively
- Proactive, with a strong customer focus
- An excellent communicator
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Work flexibly to meet the needs of the business.
- Deputize for the Production Manager, as required.
- Undertake additional activities such as attendance at conferences, and involvement in project groups to further individual and organizational development
Salary:
£27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
