Description
Do you enjoy being part of a team? Are you a people person who enjoys working with people from all walks of life and ages?

Our Trust values the contribution of the hundreds of volunteers who make such a difference to the people who use our services, giving their time and often their expertise across all sectors of the Trust, from acute and community hospitals to community settings.

The Volunteer Service is responsible for ensuring that their recruitment and training meets NHS guidelines, but also for ensuring that volunteers are supported, their views are taken into consideration, and that they feel valued.

We work closely with managers across the Trust to develop new roles and opportunities when they arise.

We aim to work closely with the voluntary sector to ensure a 'whole community' approach to volunteering, supporting people who wish to undertake volunteering as a stepping-stone to employment, and being inclusive of those who may find it harder to obtain opportunities such as people with learning disabilities, mental health issues, or previous substance misuse issues.

The volunteer coordinator role is the key to the successful running of the service, supported by the team administrator.

This role will include supporting young volunteers aged 16-25 while the present postholder is on maternity leave and particular project work.

Initially 10 months and could be extended or possibility to be made permanent.

  • First point of contact with the Volunteering Team for volunteers, volunteer supervisors and members of the public
  • Maintaining uptodate records of volunteers
  • Managing the recruitment and selection of volunteers
  • Developing and implementing new volunteer roles in partnership with staff
  • Providing daytoday advice and support to supervisors/staff, and volunteers in matters relating to volunteering
  • All administrative processes linked with training of volunteers
You will be joining an enthusiastic Volunteering Team who put volunteers at the heart of everything they do. Our aim is to ensure volunteering is mutually beneficial to both parties. Ensuring volunteers feel supported, included, valued and listened to.

Making volunteering inclusive and accessible to the local community whilst helping to enhance the patient and visitor experience at the location they are visiting.

Seeing volunteers develop their skills and reach their full potential during their journey with us makes this role incredibly rewarding.

Full Vacancy details can be found on the attached Job Description/Person Specification. Please refer to your suitability to the post in your supporting information from the role requirements or person specification.
