Senior Play Worker for Carnwadric After School Service

Qualifications
-
SVQ 3 Social Services Children and Young People or equivalent (required):


  • Applicants must be willing to work towards an SVQ 4 or SCQF Level 9


Carnwadric After School Service is an out of school care service with charity status providing breakfast club, after school care and holiday care across East Renfrewshire and Glasgow.


As a senior practitioner you will be working with children between the ages of 4-14 years and provide a child-centered service for children and young people, in a safe, secure and homely environment.


You will be working within a dedicated team of Professional Play Workers and you must be enthusiastic, highly motivated and reliable.

In addition to the role of the playworker the duties required of the senior will include:
To assist the manager in the day to day operation of the club and deputise in their absence.

Ensuring that all policies and procedures are followed to ensure the health and wellbeing of the children in our care.

To help manage staff development and training plans

Assist in weekly administration and ensure any paperwork is kept up to date and replenished when necessary

Ensure all medication is safely managed in line with best practice guidance

The ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with issues arising within the service to ensure that the privacy and dignity of service users, parents and staff members is respected

Overseeing staff distributed roles and responsibilities and ensure they are being fulfilled

A good knowledge and understanding of the service policies and procedures and risk assessments

Knowledge of the Care Inspectorate standards and grading system and how they relate specifically to the out of school care environment

A willingness to actively participate in regular training opportunities to ensure own learning and development is kept up to date and relevant


Hours Required;

  • Breakfast club 7am9am Monday to Friday _
  • After school 2.306pm Monday to Friday _
  • Additional admin hours required 5 hours per week_
You will be required to work additional hours during holidays throughout the year. Free childcare for staff will be available during our holiday care service

You are required to register with SSSC within 6 months of your employment
