Materials Coordinator to join our team based in Coventry


What you'll be doing


As an
Materials Coordinator you'll be working alongside our Logistics team helping to deliver the biggest civils infrastructure project in the UK.


You will manage and coordinate delivery of the day to day traffic accountability for activities such as concrete and aggregate requirements on behalf of sublot 2b construction team.

The principle function of this role is to manage the traffic allocation of all programmed activities within sublot 2b.

To review upcoming construction activities and allocate relevant traffic capacities to each function operating in each works area ensuring the traffic allowance does not exceed the allowed totals per day at the gate.


Liaising with the Site Wide Delivery & Logistics team (SWD&L) looking at the forecasts for aggregates, concrete, prefab and DfMA loads, assisting the Transport Planners with coordinating those deliveries.


Some of the duties you will have include:

  • Identifying and reporting programme clashes in advance and escalating unresolvable issues in advance of the following week or three week lookahead to ensure delivery of all requirements can be achieved.
  • Interfacing with the supply chain and haulage companies to optimise day to day truck capacity for site activities.
  • Collaboration with SWD&L material coordinators and logistics managers to ensure Vehicle management compliance is adhered to.
  • Co-ordination with sublot construction teams regarding programme - both short term and long term lookahead to inform material requirements with supply chain.
  • Raising orders with SWD&L for aggregates and other materials as and when required.
  • Review weekly performance of gate activity vs forecast to identify improvements on Order vs Allocation vs Delivered allowances per team.
  • Support the H&S and Community Engagement teams with gathering information on vehicles who are reported for non-compliance or unsafe acts.
  • Other duties as required by the business to support the construction team to deliver the project successfully.
  • Experienced in day to day coordination and delivery of construction materials and logistics.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, ability to manage last minute change.
