Job Title:
Receptionist/Administrator


Job Summary:
As a receptionist/administrator in a GP surgery, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors. Your primary responsibilities include managing the reception area, handling administrative tasks, and providing excellent customer service.


Key Responsibilities:

Patient Interaction:
Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.

Schedule and manage patient appointments.

Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information to patients.


Administrative Duties:
Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy.

Handle and file confidential patient information following data protection regulations.

Process and manage paperwork related to patient registration and medical records.


Appointment Scheduling:
Coordinate and schedule appointments for patients with doctors and other healthcare professionals.

Manage the appointment calendar, ensuring efficient use of time for medical staff.


Communication:
Liaise with medical staff, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to convey important information.

Relay messages to the appropriate personnel promptly and accurately.

Keep the reception area tidy and welcoming.

Ensure reading materials and informational brochures are available for patients.


Problem Resolution:
Handle patient complaints or concerns with empathy and professionalism.

Escalate issues to the appropriate personnel if necessary.


Team Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with other receptionists/administrators and healthcare professionals to ensure efficient workflow.


Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or a related field is a plus.

Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Familiarity with medical terminology and basic understanding of healthcare procedures.

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Proficient in using computer systems and software for administrative tasks.

Full Training will be provided


Salary:
£17,129.46-£24,000.00 per year
