Description
An established pharmaceutical company requires a Shift Chemist to joints its manufacturing team. You will support the manufacture and process development of established and development products. This is a rotating shift-based role between days and nights.
To be considered you must have previous experience in an industrial chemistry environment, ideally within pharmaceutical, or similar, manufacturing.


Key responsibilities will include:


Manufacture of established and development products:

  • Responsible for batch manufacture of intermediate and final ligands and Chromatographic resins or other products as required.
  • Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and Production Methods.
  • Upkeep of accurate production records and notebooks
  • Conduct of certain online quality control assay
  • Analysis of manufacturing data, early identification of anomalies and problems.
  • Maintenance of manufacturing equipment and work areas in clean and serviceable state.
  • To carry out other work in this area as and when directed by the Production Manager.
  • Process Development and optimisation
  • Responsible for conducting process optimization studies on new and existing processes (both intermediates and final products) to ensure optimum utilization of resources and maximization of yields.
  • Responsible for participating in the decisionmaking processes within the process development and control

Qualications, Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in an industrial chemistry environment.
  • Previous experience of a highly regulated manufacturing environment such as pharmaceutical manufacture.
  • Previous experience of process development chemistry.
  • Computer literate
  • Willing to work rotating hour shifts, between days and nights.
