The Student Services Centre Support Team provides an important HR, Recruitment, Finance, Reception and Health and Safety service to the teams within Education Services.

This team supports more than 270 staff across 4 Departments:
Student Admissions and Access, Student Support, Education and Student Outcomes and Student Administration.


We are seeking an HR Coordinator to join our growing Support Team who will focus on the processes involved with recruiting, assigning and managing an expanding pool of casual workers.

The casual workers support a range of activities from exam supervision to student mentoring and this role will coordinate the processes, provide training and support the managers across our departments who engage these workers.


Reporting to the Senior HR Coordinator you will:

  • Coordinate recruitment and selection of casual workers, utilising the University's Cambridge Casual Worker System (CCWS)
  • Ensure preemployment paperwork is completed and compliant
  • Provide advice to department managers on HR policy and employment related queries
  • Act as a first point of contact for enquiries from casual workers
  • Maintain and manage access to CCWS and communicate system changes to users within Education Services
  • Deal with payroll related queries and ensure payroll data is received in time for monthly deadlines
  • Be responsible for developing processes and procedures to support the continuous improvement of the management and administration of casual workers in Education Services
  • Supervise the work of temporary staff in peak periods
  • Have experience working administratively in an HR area
  • Are able to demonstrate their ability to work on multiple processes and tight regulations
  • Are adept at managing multiple priorities and high volumes of work
  • Have experience of using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Have excellent organisational skills
  • Can demonstrate factual and theoretical knowledge of HR administration
