Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring psychologist to join the Camden and Islington Psychologically Informed Consultation and Training (PICT) team, as an Assistant Psychologist.

The PICT team operates into our local borough council services such as housing, homelessness prevention and child social care w ith the aim of promoting greater mental health knowledge, understanding, curiosity and skill to support frontline staff in relation to their work with those experiencing mental health difficulties (not necessarily diagnosed).

PICT is not a therapy/case holding service but provides support to frontline staff through consultation, training, liaison and some joint working with staff and service users.

Applicants need to be comfortable with helping the PCT service to strengthen our research and evaluation approach, to enhance knowledge about best practice regarding mental health consultation and training.

You will need to be self-motivated, organised, creative, and have excellent interpersonal skills.

The post holder will work under the supervision of other qualified and experienced clinical psychologists within a multi-disciplinary team.

The post holder will be located at two main local authority sites, and managed within our PICT service.

The PICT team is a small multi-disciplinary team who co-locate into local authority services to provide consultation and training to non-mental health staff, particularly to support staff who work with residents and families with complex and severe multiple disadvantage, where one service is unlikely to be able to support the person or family on their own and a systemic response may be useful.

We meet regularly for peer consultation, service development, our own reflective practice and learning together.

The PICT team assistant psychologist is a central role within the team, supporting the work across the services we support and within the team itself.

Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust have been working in partnership with Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust since April 2022.

Jointly known as The North London Mental Health Partnership, we are progressing to become one new NHS organisation by Autumn 2024.
